Mrs. Beasley Doll

CBS developed and produced a comedy called Family Affair from September 12, 1966 to March 4, 1971. It starred Brian Keith as the uncle; Sebastian Cabot as the beloved butler, Mr. French; Kathy Garver as the older sister, Cissy; Johnny Davis as the younger brother, Jody, and Anissa Jones as younger sister, Buffy. Of course, for young girls everywhere, the star of the show was Buffy's doll, Mrs. Beasley. Mrs. Beasley was Buffy's true friend and faithful listener.

In 1967, Mattel introduced the 21 inch Mrs. Beasley doll. On the show, the comforting words of Mrs. Beasley were always left to the imagination because she did not talk. However, the doll talked and spoke eleven phrases. She was loved and longed for by girls everywhere.

Remember the talking doll from Family Affair? Perhaps you knew her as Buffy's treasured friend? She was made by the Mattel Company. Mrs. Beasley has vibrant yellow hair, a bright blue body with white polka dots. A little blue collar with yellow rick-rack ties around her neck, as well as the apron around her waist. Of course Mrs. Beasley goes nowhere without her square-rimmed, black plastic glasses. By pulling her pull string, you can hear Mrs. Beasley say these 11 phrases:

I do think you're the nicest little friend I ever had!
Gracious me, you're getting to be such a big girl!
It would be such fun to play jump rope don't you think?
Speak a little louder dear, so Mrs. Beasley can hear you.
If you could have three wishes, what would you wish for?
Would you like to try on my glasses? You may if you wish.
Do you want to play?
If you were a little smaller, I could rock you to sleep.
Long ago, I was a little girl, just like you!
Do you want to hear a secret? I know one!
You may call me Mrs. Beasley, would you like to play?
